‘Kindergarten’ – A Cute Game About Kids That Turns Out to be Somewhat Disturbing

Choose your choices wisely as each decision you make affects the outcome of the game (and also determines if you survive).

Play as a potato-looking student in a school that’s a bit….off. The teacher has gargantuan boobs. The janitor is often seen cleaning up blood. A fellow classmate has gone missing and to top things off, the cafeteria keeps serving the same old slop everyday. Choose your choices wisely as each decision you make affects the outcome of the game (and also determines if you survive).

The game starts out on a Monday morning as you wake up in your room surrounded by a circle of black rectangles that seem to be slots for collectibles later on. Money can be withdrawn from a piggy bank to purchase items but be careful with how much you take.

The number of actions you’re allowed to take in each room varies and appears in the form of apples on the bottom right. When you’ve used up the apples, the bell rings and you move on to the next room or scene.

One notable character is Cindy; basically a tiny version of Regina George that orders you around to either do tasks for her or do mean things to Lily and by completing such tasks you get rewarded with the honour of being Cindy’s boyfriend (oh joy!).

Check out our gameplay footage below featuring ‘the perfect relationship’:

Of course I’m not mean enough to dump a bucket of God-knows-what on poor Lily (but you can try it out for yourself), the money is more than enough for me. Sadly, I ended up getting killed by the janitor because i didn’t high-tail it out of there fast enough. But hey, at least I won’t have to get chewed out by Cindy for failing her mission.

Kindergarten is an early access game and is still under development, buy Kindergarten on Steam for $5.50.
