When will this amazing series end???

One Piece was once hailed as one of the top 3 shounen manga of its time, alongside Bleach and Naruto. However, both series eventually decided to end the story at around the 15th year mark. With One Piece having marked its 20th birthday on 22nd July 2017 (Happy Birthday!), many fans are questioning whether the series will end soon, and if so, when?

One Piece creator and mangaka, Oda Eiichiro, had this to say to his loyal and supportive fans:

“One day, even the story of Luffy and his friends will end. If you’d continue on this adventure with them until then, I’d be very happy. Thank you for these 20 years, and I ask for your continued support for a little longer!!”

While the statement does little to shed light on the end date of One Piece, the title’s editor has stated that Oda does have a master plan to end the series and if he sticks to the plan, the series is expected to end in 2025. However, fans should note that this is not set in stone and may be subject to change (especially since Oda tends to overwork himself).

Regardless, we look forward to what Oda-sensei has in store for the Straw hat crew in their future adventures.
