The latest game in the franchise has not been officially announced but Scott Cawthon, developer of the Five Nights at Freddy’s series, has revealed that he has ceased work on the project. He says “I fear that I’ve been neglecting other things in my life for the sake of trying to keep up with those mounting expectations.”

Sister Location, the fifth game in the horror series, was released last year. An RPG spin-off titled FNaF World has also been released for free after being pulled from Steam.

Even though nothing is to be revealed about the nature of FNaF 6, Cawthon says he will not be giving up on making games, nor will he be leaving the FNaF series behind. In additional news, he plans to release a VR game at some point and the official FNaF movie is still in production.
