To wrap up Sony’s E3 briefing, they ended off by showcasing the gameplay demo of the new Spider-Man game by Insomniac Games, best known for their work on the Ratchet and Clank series.
The gameplay showcases Spidey fighting gangsters in an Arkham Asylum Batman ambush-and-fighting style but on a lighter note and with a lot more webbing. The action then continues from the construction site on to a helicopter and after Spidey saves the day, the demo ends with an African American teenager recording the destruction on his phone before ecstatically running away. This thus gives us a huge clue that the game may be featuring Miles Morales and that he would add to the web-slinging fun.
The game’s story is an original one and will be entirely separated from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and from the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming movie.
The game is set to launch in early 2018.
