Game developer 343 Industries has confirmed that Halo 6 will not be released anytime soon, following its absence from Microsoft‘s presentation at E3.
Earlier this year, the company also shot down speculations about a Halo 3 Anniversary remaster, instead saying that there will be “a little something” in store – which turned out to be a new expansion for Halo Wars 2, coming November 2017.
However, fans of the series should not despair, as Halo 6 has already been in development for more than a year. In addition, the next major instalment will not feature any new playable characters, as per fan demands. Instead, the story will centre around Master Chief, whom many felt was not given enough focus in Halo 5.
Halo 6 and any games to come will also bring back split screen (multiplayer) features in the previous titles, which was subsequently dropped in Halo 5.
