Apple’s Orchard Road store will be finally opening its doors at Knightsbridge Mall on 27 May 2017 at 10am and this will not only be the first official flagship store in Singapore but in Southeast Asia as well.

According to Apple’s website, there’ll be a slew of special programs lined up for fans to enjoy including an acoustic performance from local singer-songwriter Sezairi Sezali on May 27 from 5pm to 6.30pm. From 11am to 12.30pm on 28 May, renowned photographer Chia Aik Beng will hold a session on the topic of street photography and a movie making session for kids will also be held on 31 May from 10am to 11am.

The store aims to be a “modern day town square”, where local photographers, musicians, illustrators, and entrepreneurs will hold educational sessions for the public in a line up of events titled “Today at Apple”.

The new outlet will occupy a total of four floors in Knightsbridge Mall – from Basement 1 to Level 3 and runs completely on clean energy with the use of rooftop solar panels, making it the first company in Singapore to use renewable energy.

Also, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to release three new laptops next month. And usually when Apple launches laptops with new chips, the older models often receive a discount. So if you’re in the market for a new Apple laptop, wait for two more weeks — there’s a chance you could get one for cheaper. Rumours are also circulating that Apple will be launching a new iPad or voice-activated speaker next month but it is not confirmed whether there are actually plans for both products to be launched.
